Why the price is not on the site

On 8 August we explained here when the first assignment opens and added that the price had been published for a few days and would not change before the opening. On 10 August we took it off the site, and that entry was left saying something that was no longer true. We should have said so that same day.

We took it down because the price was doing a job that isn't its own: it was the second thing anyone read on the watch page, ahead of the watch, the protocol or the Record. We would rather the Civis be understood first and the price arrive as a consequence.

What does not change: it will be a single price, the same worldwide, and it will be published before the first assignment opens. Nobody will have to decide anything without knowing it.

The figure published back then has not changed. If it is different when it returns to the site, we will say so here before opening.
