The protocol behind every Civis.
Every Vindex reference has a protocol of its own. The Civis one brings together seven checks, run unit by unit and recorded against the number of each piece.
Where it comes from
How a reference is built.
The parts come from different suppliers, chosen one by one, and we travel to the factories to see the materials before ordering them. Assembly and testing happen in our workshop. That is where the movement is cased, measured, recorded and signed, unit by unit, which is what the rest of this page is about. The house is not tied to a single caliber origin: each future reference will use the architecture that best answers its purpose, its maintenance and its continuity.
Every Vindex reference has its protocol. The Civis completes seven checks before it counts as finished.

Water resistance
Every case is tested individually at 10 ATM.
We test every case's water resistance before the dial is fitted. The screw-down crown and the gaskets are checked one by one, and a case that cannot hold the pressure it promises is pulled from the line. The measured value goes into that unit's report.

Demagnetization
Magnetism knocks a mechanical movement off rate with no visible sign.
Everyday magnets (cases, clasps, speakers) can magnetize a movement and throw it off without you noticing. We measure and demagnetize every caliber before it is cased, so the rate we measure in the next check is the real one.

Verified accuracy
Every caliber ships with its rate recorded in seconds per day.
We measure the PT5000's rate in several positions. The Vindex Standard margin is −10 to +10 sec/day: a unit that falls outside it is regulated and measured again, and one that cannot be brought inside it is not sold. Each piece's result is written into its Vindex Record, with its date and the signature of whoever measured it.

Power reserve
The reserve each caliber actually delivers, measured one by one.
The PT5000 is rated at around 38 hours. We measure what each caliber actually delivers and record the figure. It's the test that exposes a faulty mainspring or barrel before it reaches you.

Aesthetic inspection
Surfaces, cleanliness and alignment.
Dial, hands, indices, crystal, case and finishing are examined for cleanliness, alignment and the condition of the surfaces.

Crown & setting
The screw-down crown and the setting, tested by hand.
We screw the crown down and back and set both the time and the date, checking that everything runs smoothly and precisely.

Strap & clasp
What touches your wrist is tested too.
We check the leather strap and the steel bracelet, with the buckle, the clasp and the spring bars, making sure they fasten and hold firm.

Only a unit that completes its protocol counts as a finished Vindex.
No unit counts as finished without its opening Vindex Record.
A record that stays.
The protocol does not end in an approval. The date, the result of each check and the identity of the piece make up its record of origin. Years later, that starting point will still belong to the same watch.
The record
One unit. One record.
Every Vindex is born with its own Record, tied to its serial number. It starts the day the piece is finished and is meant to accompany it for life: the seven checks it left with, its delivery, and every later service and repair with its date and signature.

Open the record
The NFC card opens the piece's Record from a compatible phone, with no app to install. The card is a way in; the record exists independently of it.

Identify the piece
The Record shows the reference, the individual number and the data recorded for that unit from its origin.

The history starts here
Delivery is the first entry in the history. From then on, every service and every repair is written into the Record with its date and the signature of whoever carried it out.
One identity, in three places.
The number engraved on the case, the card and the Vindex Record must identify the same piece. The record exists independently of the card: if the card is lost, the watch's historical identity remains.
