Privacy policy

This describes exactly what we do with your data today. For anything to do with it, email hello@vindex.watch and we'll answer you ourselves.

When you request access to an assignment we keep what you write in the form: your name, your email, where you live, what watch you usually wear, why the Civis interests you, how you came across Vindex and, if you choose to leave one, a public profile. We also store the language you browse in. If you leave a public profile, we use it only to understand the context of whoever is requesting access when we decide an assignment. We do not publish it, we do not share it and we do not use it for anything else. It is optional: leaving it blank takes nothing away. Your request is not recorded until you confirm your address by clicking the link we send you. Without that click we keep nothing, which is what stops anyone from signing up someone else's email. We keep your request for as long as it stands. There is no expiry date: unless you withdraw it, it stays. You can withdraw it at any time from the link in every email we send, and we delete it then. We do not send you advertising, we do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone other than our hosting and email providers, and, only if you accept visit measurement, Google Analytics. Visit measurement is optional: we ask you once when you arrive and, if you decline, nothing is loaded. If you accept, Google Analytics records page views, traffic source and device type, with the IP anonymised. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser: the notice will appear again. When there is a unit for you we will also ask for your full name, your phone number and your postal address, so we can ship and invoice it. Until that day we ask for none of that. If you have something with Vindex you can sign in to your account, without a password: we send you a single-use link that expires after 15 minutes. When you sign in we store a session cookie, needed for the account to work, which lasts 30 days or until you sign out. Inside you can see and correct your request, turn your notifications on or off, download what we keep about you and delete your account. You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you or to delete it, by writing to hello@vindex.watch. We do it and confirm back.
