The brand

We couldn't find the watch we wanted. So we made it.

Vindex exists to prove that a well-made watch shouldn't cost a month's salary. The value is in the process, not the logo.

The name

Vindex, the one who rose.

In Latin, vindex means defender: the one who steps up for someone else. Gaius Julius Vindex, a Roman governor, rose against Nero in 68 AD and helped bring down the Julio-Claudian dynasty. He didn't win on the battlefield, but his act set change in motion. That's where the name comes from: character, history, and a Latin root that also names our lines.

That's why the shield carries a sword through it: the shield is protection and Roman heritage; the sword, the character of someone who takes a stand.

Construction sheet of the Vindex crest: the shield with sword and integrated V, with a legionary helmet, a column and a laurel, on aged parchment.

What drives us

Why we do it

To prove that a well-made watch shouldn't cost a month's salary. Every piece goes through a rigorous quality protocol (water resistance, demagnetization, verified accuracy) before it reaches the person who'll wear it.

Where we're headed

To be the reference microbrand for those who know watches and don't need anyone else to know they do: premium quality and technology within reach.

Who we are

Behind every Vindex there's a name, not an order number.

Behind every Vindex there's a name and a face that answers, not an anonymous factory or a shop that's gone tomorrow.

Vindex started as a shared obsession: we like watches that are actually good, not just ones that look the part. There aren't many of us, we're spread across the world, and we don't have the budget of the big houses — but we don't have their margins either. We chose to do things backwards: the watch first, the price after, never the other way around.

What we stand for

Five principles, no fine print.

01Disciplina

Process over logo

A watch is worth what it's worth for how it's made, not the name it carries. Every Vindex passes real tests before it ships. It's not optional, it's the promise.

02Fides

Honesty, no excuses

No price inflated for status, no materials cut for margin. You know exactly what you're buying and why it's worth what it costs.

03Memoria

History as raw material

We don't make gimmicky watches: we tell stories worth telling. Every model is an object with memory.

04Ars

Documented craft

Assembly isn't a factory secret — it's part of the product. You see how your watch is born. That's the trust no marketing can buy.

05Dignitas

Real scarcity, not manufactured

Limited editions are limited because it makes sense to make them that way, not as a trick. Numbered. And when they're gone, they're gone.

The journey

From an idea to a list.

  1. 01

    The idea

Tired of choosing between paying for a name or settling for something forgettable.

  2. 02

    The first prototype

The Civis Solum: sapphire, 100 m, an automatic PT5000 and 316L steel.

  3. 03

    The 7 checks

We defined the protocol every piece passes before it ships.

  4. 04

    The reservation list

We opened the list: each watch is made in order, slowly and by hand.
