Why we started this

We wanted an automatic you could actually check: to know which controls a specific watch had passed before buying it. We could not find one, so we decided to make it.

The idea fits in one sentence: test and document every piece, and tell exactly how and why. If the value is in the work, the logical thing is to show the work.

The name sets the bar. Vindex is the root of vindicate: to stand up and claim what is just. This brand practices it at its own scale: it vindicates the idea that an honest mechanical watch can be checked.

This is a build diary. We will tell here what we are doing as we do it, including what goes sideways along the way.
